Description

A defined process to shut down troubled projects is a critical management tool, but according to CPM’s 2007 Leadership Survey of 672 companies, 80 percent don’t execute a process for identifying and canceling troubled projects.

Few leaders recognize the indicators of project failure before its too late. A key reason is that most are afraid of being labeled as quitters. Establishing a well-defined process sends a clear message to project managers and sponsors that problem projects should be jettisoned, rather than indulged, before irreparable damage is done.

This session describes the Project HALT methodology designed for CXOs, executives, project sponsors, and project managers to determine the health of a project and, if necessary, shut it down in an orderly manner.
